Applicant Pre-Screening Tools

Okay. So you've launched the Portal and all of a sudden you are getting hundreds of applications for each position. Out of these, dozens match your basic education, certification, and experience needs.

How do you know which applicants most closely match the facility's philosophies?

Once again, NHIemployment's Healthcare Jobs Portal blows the competition out of the water!

The Portal is installed with four separate types of pre-screener tools. Each one is explained in detail below. Your facility can fine-tune each tool to help you identify those applicants whose ideas and energies are a fit with the facility administration's direction. Simply put, the screener tools help you differentiate between a "great" and a "perfect" match.

Then, when searching for the ideal candidate pool, you can sort the results using the scores, or simply disregard any applicant whose scores are not within a facility-defined range. You can choose which screeners are required of each application type.

Multiple Choice Prescreening Tool

The multiple choice tool allows you to ask up to twenty questions, each with up to four answers. Assign a value to each answer between zero and five, and when the Portal scores an applicant's responses, the individual scores will be added together for an aggregate score. Because you can set a score for each answer, you can easily differentiate between "correct" answers and "preferred" answers.

True and False Prescreening Tool

The true and false screener allows you to add up to twenty statements. For each, identify the preferred response. When the applicant completes the questionnaire, the Portal converts the number of correct answers into a percentage. This composite score can then be used to sort applicants during interview pool searches.

Essay Response Prescreening Tool

This pre-screener tool provides for automatic or manual scoring. In either mode, you ask an open-ended question and the applicant has up to thirty minutes to provide an answer. In manual-scoring, one or more facility-selected admin users are alerted by the system to review the submission and assign a score from zero to one hundred. In automatic mode, you can designate up to fifty terms or phrases that you desire be included in the essay response. For each term/phrase in the essay, the applicants receives one point. After automatic scoring is complete, the resulting score is converted into a percentage and added to the applicant's records. Whether automatically or manually scored, the essay response pre-screener gives you valuable insight into an applicant's thought patterns and ability to compose a coherent thought in writing.
