The Online Reference Portal allows references to record their responses right into the Portal. This eliminates the need for paper to be handled and filed in your office. Additionally, the Document Scanning Service, available for an additional fee, will handle it for you!

There are three online reference surveys included with the Healthcare Jobs Portal. Each has facility-selectable options to use built-in short or long forms, or to link to your own form - whichever you prefer.

Professional References - These are to be sent to previous co-workers or other who can speak to an applicants professional demeanor and attitudes.

Past Employment - Used mostly for classified and support staff applicants, this form requests pertinent information about former employment. Examples include eligibility for rehire, dates of employment, etc.

Transcript Request - If you require applicants to submit original transcripts, this cover letter makes the request and offers the address to which the transcripts should be sent.

All online references received by the Portal or entered by NHIemployment on your behalf are immediately available in virtual format when viewing an applicants data. Additionally, if excessively low scores are received or if any response if considered "deficient" the Portal will automatically flag the reference so managers are aware to review it closely.
